Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Refer-A-Friend Campaign (Promotion). Entry into the promotion is deemed to be an acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Definitions:

• "Referrer" - the existing APA member, from an eligible membership category (see clause 6) who is introducing a prospective new member to the APA.
• “Referee” - the new APA member invited by an existing APA member.
• "APA Membership/Membership" - as listed in clause 6, excluding other APA memberships on offer such as National Groups, magazine subscriptions, College membership or others not identified within clause 6.
• "Active membership" - a current APA membership purchased during 2023, valid to 31 December 2023.

Terms and Conditions:

1) Promotional period:

The Refer-A-Friend promotion is valid from 1 August 2023 until 31 August 2023 AEST.

2) Promotional offer:

I. Referrer reward: Upon satisfaction of successful referral (see criteria set out in clause 5), the referrer will receive a 20% discount code to apply upon the renewal of their APA membership for 2024.

II. Referee reward: The referee will receive a 20% discount code that may be applied to the purchase of the eligible 2023 APA membership category (as set out in clause 6) (fees will be pro-rata as at the date of joining).

3) Referrer eligibility: To be an eligible referrer, you must be an:

I. Existing APA member with an Active membership in the specified categories as listed in clause 6.

4) Referee eligibility:

I. A referee may be a friend, colleague and/or family member of an existing APA member.

II. The referee may have previously held an active APA membership with a paid through date in 2022 or prior, but must not have an existing active APA membership in 2023.

III. The referee must be a registered physiotherapist with Ahpra and be able to provide the registration number when joining.

5) Successful referral:

A referral will be deemed to be successful upon satisfaction of the below criteria:

I. The referrer must hold an active membership in an eligible category as set out below in clause 6.

II. The referee must complete an application for membership in one of the eligible membership categories (clause 6 below).

III. The referee must provide the referrer’s email address, where specified, during the online application process.

IV. The referee must provide a valid Aphra registration number during the online application process.

V. The referee will be required to pay in full the appropriate pro-rata fees for 2023 (instalment payments are not eligible for the discount).

VI. Any request to cancel membership by the referee prior to 20 October 2023 will deem the referral unsuccessful, and any referrer discount will be void. Standard membership fees apply.

7) Provision of referrer discount:

I. Upon satisfaction of a successful referral, as per clause 5, the referrer will be notified, via email, of their eligibility for the offer after the 20 October and before 30 October 2023.

II. The email will include a discount code which can be redeemed in the renewals cart for eligible members before 31 December 2023 (during the 2024 renewals campaign period).

III. The referrer discount code will be applicable for both upfront payments and to instalment payment/plans.

IV. It is the referrer's responsibility to redeem the 2024 membership discount code at the point of payment. The APA will be under no obligation to retrospectively apply a discount once a renewal payment has been processed.

V. It is the obligation of the referrer to ensure that the referee can provide an accurate email address for the referrer that matches the registered email address on the referrer’s APA member record. If the email address provided is incorrect and cannot be matched to an APA member record, the APA is under no obligation to issue a referrer discount code.

VI. The referrer discount is not transferrable and is not valid in conjunction with any other membership or loyalty discounts.

8) Provision of referee discount:

I. The referee discount code is applicable during the promotional period only.

II. The discount code must be applied at the point of check out, and the APA will not issue a discount retrospectively.

III. Referee discount is available only when paying in full and is not valid when paying via instalments.

IV. Only one discount code may be applied. Discount is not valid in conjunction with any other membership or loyalty discounts.

9) Multiple Referrals:

I. A referrer may refer multiple referees during the promotional period (see clause 1). Each of the referees will be eligible to use the discount offer if they satisfy the criteria outlined in clauses 7 and 8.

II. The Referrer Reward is capped to a 20% discount per APA Member on the 2024 membership fee.

III. Referrals are on a first-come, first-served basis. Where there is any question to the origin of a referral, the referrer discount code will only be issued to the recipient of the referrer email addressed provided by the referee during the application process. The APA reserves the right of judgement and all decisions are final.

IV. In the unlikely instance that two applications are received for the same referee, the first completed application (assessed by the receipt of payment date and time mark) will be deemed the successful referral, and the relevant referrer will be issued the discount.

V. If a referee enters more than one referrer email address in the referrer email field, the referral is void.

10) The referees must become a member during the promotional period to be eligible. A grace period until 8 September will be provided for each referee. Any referrals outside of this time frame will not qualify for this offer.

11) Referral Process:

To participate in the promotion, the following must take place;

I. The referrer will receive an email from APA providing instructions on the promotion.

II. The referrer can email, SMS or phone the referee and encourage participation.

III. If the referee decides to become an APA member, they can click the join button on the APA Refer-A-Friend webpage and step through the ‘join’ process. General APA membership terms and conditions and privacy policy apply.

IV. During the checkout process, as per clause 8, the referee must enter the referrer’s ‘email address’ in the box provided.

V. During the checkout process, the referee must also enter the discount code provided by the referrer within the box provided and hit apply to obtain the offer.

VI. An APA staff member will verify all the elements listed in clauses 1 through to 10 above.

12) The APA reserves the right to validate the eligibility of any Referee with respect to whether they are a new customer or as otherwise deemed necessary and may determine any Referee to be ineligible in its sole discretion.

13) The APA reserves the right to modify or cancel the Promotion at any time without prior notice. The referral offer is not redeemable for cash.

14) In the event that the APA is, for any reason, unable to validate the indicated offer, we reserve the right to substitute an offer of commensurate value subject to these same terms and conditions.

15) The APA makes no representations or warranties as to the quality or suitability of the offer. It is the responsibility of the referee to select the most appropriate member category at the time of purchase, and ensure the coverage provided by the APA Member Insurance Program is adequate for their needs. To the extent permitted by law, the APA is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to, direct or consequential loss) or for any damages you may suffer as a result of participation to the promotion, including but not limited to your inability to obtain or redeem any reward codes.
